Real Evidence of God’s Existence

All around us, there is evidence of God. If things just happened by chance, or every living being evolved from a more primitive life form, how do we have such a vast array of creatures, and how is every ecosystem absolutely perfect, with a circle of life that always feeds the next generation… wouldn’t there be mistakes? In fact, any mistakes that we do see, are all caused by man’s interaction with nature, where you have extinction, or invasive species that have been moved from one ecosystem to another. The sun rises every day, the waves go in and out, the seasons come every year, there’s never been any variance for thousands of years. How is that possible in a world that was created by some random explosion? Why isn’t there life on any other planet we’ve discovered?

We don’t question other historical books, but because there’s a supernatural element to the Bible, people have a hard time believing it is true. Meanwhile, many people have no problem believing in other supernatural things such as ‘ghosts’, demons, angels, witchcraft, ‘karma’, psychic abilities, aliens, the fact that we have souls, and countless other unexplained phenomena. We have evidence all around us of intelligent design, angels, demons, unexplained miracles, and healings. Much of this seems to be general knowledge. In fact, evolution and the big bang theory are really just as (if not less) unbelievable but we don’t have any evidence or witnesses of that. Yet, we have a hard time believing in a Spirit God. Why?

We consider the testimony of 2 witnesses enough to convict someone of a crime. Yet, we have countless testimonies of people who’ve experienced Jesus and God over 4 millennia up to and including modern times. The Bible, written by about 40 different authors, documented hundreds, if not thousands of lives, covering the span of 1500 years, that were all impacted by this same God. And nearly every personal story from back then is perfectly aligned with today’s testimonies (I say nearly because there are a few wackos in every camp). God’s character never changes. His methods never change. While every person has a different personal story, their encounters with God are strangely aligned. They can’t all be crazy, or brainwashed. There is estimated to be 2.4 billion Christians in the world, making it the most popular religion in the world, covering some of the most remote regions in the world. No, it’s not mass hypnosis, a conspiracy, a cult, or anything like that. First, how would that even be possible? No, it’s simply a lot of people, being presented with the same evidence. That’s why they believe in God. They’ve personally experienced Him.

Reading a book, or even listening or engaging with certain people for a long time, rarely results in lasting life change. Yet those, who believe in God, are usually dramatically changed, and in a  good way. They become more generous, loving, healthy, happier, and less self-serving and self-destructive. Maybe they’re annoying now because all they talk about is Jesus, and tell you what you’re doing wrong. It’s not because they think they’re better than you. They just want to help you. Christians aren’t perfect, they’re just ordinary people who’ve had an extraordinary experience.

Do you know someone whose life was completely changed? Drug addicts, Atheists, even Satanists, but now they go to church every Sunday, or left their life to go be a missionary, or became a pastor – drastic life changes. It’s not because they’ve been brainwashed, it’s because they’ve been presented with compelling evidence.

Christians come from all walks of life, every background, culture, and lifestyle. Many Christians only have 1 thing in common with each other, and that is their belief in and love for God. Chances are they have just as dark of a past, and similarly terrible habits, as everyone else. The difference is something brought them out of it.

If you’re someone who doesn’t believe, I challenge you to think about this: What if you suddenly came across irrefutable evidence that there is a living God, and so discovered that it is all true? That is real, and Heaven and Hell are real. Not only that, but 75% of the world was going to Hell for eternity, because they don’t believe it… Would you do anything differently? Wouldn’t you want to tell people? Especially those you love and care about? That what we do in this life has eternal consequences, this is BIG news! Wouldn’t you do everything in your power to stop them from going to Hell? That’s why that person in your life is telling you to pray and read your Bible and invites you to church – they want you to learn what they’ve learned, and they don’t want something bad to happen to you. We don’t all do this with the same grace, but you have to understand the urgency and the dire consequences of getting this wrong. Would you at least want to read the book that documented His existence to see if you missed something else?

It’s like watching someone who is walking along and headed for a cliff that only you can see. You desperately try to get them to stop walking and listen to you, and try to get them to go in a different direction. But they don’t believe you because they can’t see it. So even if you don’t believe, I would ask that you at least listen to these people in your life, politely, and know that they are just trying to share something with you out of love.

Here’s another clue. You can see the fight between good and evil all around us – our politicians, dictators around the world, murderers, thieves, war, abuse, violence, regular everyday people that do terrible things to one another. If you pay attention, you’ll notice there’s a lot of evil in the world, especially in mainstream entertainment. Why do you think that is? Why is there such an obsession with and celebration of evil in nearly every major and popular event, concert, movie/show, video games, music, etc?… But there is also good. People being generous, kind, community outreach, philanthropy, ‘paying it forward’, love, happiness, regular everyday people doing nice things for each other for no reason.

Are you still on the fence and do you want to be sure? There’s really only one way. Just ask Him.
